Vitae
Dr. Janson is past-president of both the American
College for Advancement in Medicine and the American Preventive
Medical Association, and he founded and directed the first
complementary-alternative medical center in New England,
in Cambridge, Massachusetts in1976. He is one of the best-known
holistic physicians in the country.
In 1990, Dr. Janson founded the Center for
Preventive Medicine, in Barnstable, on Cape Cod in Massachusetts,
and directed it until 1999. He now consults with patients
in Arlington, Massachusetts, providing counseling in nutrition,
dietary supplements, exercise, stress management, wellness,
personal growth, chelation therapy, and intravenous nutritional
therapies.
Dr. Janson has a unique background with training
in both conventional western medicine and alternative therapies.
Dr. Janson's health and nutrition articles appear in many
health magazines and professional journals, and he is quoted
in many health books and columns. Dr. Janson is the author
of the following books: The Vitamin Revolution in Health
Care (Arcadia Press, 1996), Dr. Janson's New Vitamin
Revolution (Penguin-Putnam-Avery, 2000), Chelation
Therapy and Your Health (Keats Publishing, 1998), All
About Saw Palmetto and the Prostate (Avery Publishing,

Medicine (Arcadia Press, 1997). He has written articles
on chelation therapy, dietary supplements such as minerals,
vitamins, herbs, and amino acids, vegetarian diets and other
topics. He is a consultant for Rodale Press, and he has
been quoted in TIME, Newsweek, and many
health magazines and online health sites. He is also the
publisher of a monthly newsletter, Dr. Michael Janson's
Healthy Living.
Dr. Janson is an international professional speaker
on the topics of nutrition, complementary and alternative
medicine, vitamins and other dietary supplements in medical
therapy, chelation therapy, holistic health, integrating
complementary therapies into the medical practice, and the
politics of health care. For five years he hosted Alive
and Well, a Boston area health radio show, and he is a frequent
guest on TV and radio. He is a member of the National Speakers
Association.
Dr. Janson speaks to professional audiences
and the public. Over the past 24 years, Dr. Janson has lectured
in a variety of forums, and has been well received by the
public, physicians and political circles. Dr. Janson has
testified twice as an expert witness before the Senate Labor
and Human Resources Committee, on the Dietary Supplement
Health and Education Act in 1993, and the Access to Medical
Treatment Act in 1995, and has spoken at a congressional
luncheon. He has presented to the Federal Trade Commission
and he has been a consultant for the Medical Council of
Hong Kong.
